This week has been a lot easier as it is getting closer to the end of my class. Throughout this week I have been trying to better my website to get customers engaged and to stay on my website. The two ways to do this is by making the landing page connect with your business ad and to optimize your search results.
The landing page is super fun and easy to fix. When I talk about the landing page I am talking about the page customers are directed to when they click on your site. For example, my customers go straight to my home page because my products are on the home page underneath the title of my business. It is important to make sure that when your customers go to your website that they are directed to the page that has the products or service they are looking for. It is also a good idea to make sure you reiterate what you sell to remind the customer why they are on your site. For me, I realized that when people go to my landing page the see a heading and a description, but neither one of those lets the customers know why they landed on that page. So I re-adjusted my description so that people really know that I sell pet shampoo and treats. Below is the before and after the change I have made to my website to better showcase what I sell.

I have also updated my call to action button. At first it said "See the Products" and I changed it to "Shop Now" because I feel like having Shop Now gives more of a pull to the audience than just seeing the products.
After working with the landing page my next goal was to improve my search results meaning I find more ways to connect with the search engine, like Google, so that my website pops up more frequently. I actually learned that there are a lot of ways to do this. You can optimize your search engine by making sure you use keywords in your ad headline and ad description, which is something I noticed that I did not do and changed. You can make your website have image results meaning if someone did an image search for Burt Bee's Dog Shampoo that image will come up along with the link to my website. It is important to make sure your website link is connected to the image or else the image search will not work properly. You can use social media tags to help with your site being seen. I think this one is pretty important because more people are shopping on social media so if you can get social media to show case your website it would create more traffic. It would be even better for your business to have a social media page and a button or link to that page so customers can see other's experience. It will build a good amount of trust to your clientele. If your target audience doesn't use social media that much than it is good to include logos of websites or people that trust your business as that can show credibility as well.
As you can see this week was fun and simple as I found ways to improve my searches and landing page. It was relatively easy to do as I rearrange certain things. I encourage you all to go out and look at what you can do to improve your search engine ratings and landing page. Remember to be creative but tell the customer what you sell and that you are a reliable company.
