Return on Investment & Optimizing Ads

Published on 10 March 2023 at 15:30

This week was my class learned about how to get a return on investment (ROI), which is revenue, and how to best optimize our ads. Learning about this was good, setting it up was a struggle for me so I did not like this week as much. For getting a return on investment we had to set up conversion tracking that we used from Google Ads. I tired so hard to follow the instructions and I had a hard time connecting it to my website. I was at a loss on how to do set up conversion tracking. The good news is that I wasn't the only student how struggled, thank goodness, and I finally got it up and running after a couple days. So unfortunately when I put my data in for results the first two days of running my add is not going to have a conversion on in, but I think that will be ok. I don't have real advice on the best way to set up your conversion tracking because it depends on your website builder if it is easy or not to connect it to your website. A lot of my classmates said that using Wix was pretty easy to use at set up and it made me wish I used Wix instead. So I recommend going to YouTube and see how others set up their conversion tracking to the specific website builder you are using.

After learning about conversions and how to set it up we took a look at optimizing our ad performance by changing, removing, or adding keywords or ad campaigns. This will contribute to my class project in the next two weeks. So I am going to give my add a couple days to run and then change a few things, give it another couple days and change things and so on. Doing so I think will help me keep track of how everything is doing and how to best minimize my cost and increase my chances of my ad showing up in peoples searches. Even while I was looking at my ad campaign and keywords I already found that I could get rid of a few words and change things up, but like I said I am going to wait for a couple days.

This week was hard but productive and I know it is to help me improve my business skills in the online world. I am hoping it gets easier from here and I don't have to embed anything else into my website as I don't like doing that myself and it makes me wish I could have someone build my website instead, but I guess deep down I know I have to learn the hard things if I want to succeed inf business and in life. I wish you all luck on getting your conversion tracking set up, sorry I couldn't be more helpful as for me it is complicated to write down how I set mine up. After setting up your conversion tracking then I would say it is all up to trial and error to see what works best for your ad and website to be seen.
