Choosing A Web builder and Web Host

Published on 28 January 2023 at 17:34

Now that I figured the difference between being an affiliate and drop-shipping and looking at other ways to market I can now start to choose a website builder and a webhost. In my class we looked at different types of web builders, and oh boy there is a lot. Again, I looked at the criteria that I wanted and ranked which web builder I wanted. For me, I wanted a website builder that would be easy to use, has all the marketing tools I needed, and how much it would cost to build the website. During my search I found a web-site builder called Ecwid which had a low cost, the marketing tools I wanted, and it was very easy to use with guides and tutorials. In my matrix system I made for my class Ecwid ranked first. However, WordPress was a very good web builder too. They had a decent low cost, it is easy to learn once I watch tutorials on how to use it, but it kind of lacks in the marketing department. The thing that makes it interesting is that a lot of host sites support WordPress, which brings me into searching for a host.

Again, I picked certain criteria I wanted in a host and chose from there. I looked for the same things I wanted for my web-builder sites except I added promo offers. Promo offers would be like the discounts they offer and what is provided in each hosting plan that I choose. Ranking my criteria in my excel spreadsheet, I found that HostGator would be the number one option. But looking at each host I like Bluehost better because their response time is between 9 seconds and 30 second. It offers free domain for a year, Google Ads is only $75 and I can have Google Analytics, which is a function I need for class. You can have a host that does not have Google Analytics and you can add it or either the host doesn't allow Google Analytics at all. Google Analytics really helps with calculating the demand and the future so it can help you adjust your business. I recommend it because it seems like a great way to keep track of your business and to keep your business on top. But I don't think it is a requirement to have when starting your web-business, but it would be a good investment. So I might personally go with Bluehost because it is easy to use with step to step guides and more flexibility with supporting a majority of web-builders.

Remember when you are looking for a web-builder and a web-host to think about what you want both things to have, create an excel spreadsheet, like the one in my last post, and rank it. And you don't have to pick the number one rank if you think something might be a little bit better even if it costs more or doesn't offer a lot of discounts. Because that's why I picked. I wish you all luck in find the perfect we-builder and host that will be designed how you want it.

Stay tuned for next week, because the last couple weeks were research and soon, I will be starting to design and put up my website for business, which makes it exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time. I'll try and give tips too.
